Little Pumpkin Sew-A-Long - Prep Week

Updated: Sep 2, 2021

It's time to gather those supplies for making your pillow! Here’s a list of fabric and tools you'll need, and some helpful but optional tools I like to use as well.

Pattern:

Click here for the Little Pumpkin Pillow pattern!

Fabric:

  • 9 fabrics for the pumpkins - scraps larger than 6" x 6" or fat eighths would work great.

  • a few greens for leaves and browns for stems. Scraps are also great for these or leftover mini-charms or charm pack pieces, or of course a fat eighth or two.

  • 3/8 yard background fabric

  • 1/2 yard pillow back fabric

I also have a few precut kits left if you want to make one just like mine. 😁

Sewing supplies:

  • Sewing machine

  • 1/4” foot

  • thread

  • quilting ruler

  • rotary cutter

  • cutting mat

  • iron

  • ironing board

Optional finishing supplies:

  • 20” zipper

  • batting (if you’d like a quilted top)

  • binding fabric - 2 strips of desired binding width x width of fabric

  • -or- 2.5 yards Ric Rac

  • Hera marker, Frixion pen, walking foot

Coloring Sheet

You’ve probably noticed there are a few different types of stems on these pumpkins. It’s helpful to plan them out before you start and then cut the appropriate amount of pieces. The pattern also includes a chart to help you know how much to cut once you decide. Click the button below for a free download to color and plan your block placement, as well as play around with different stem options. Or you know, color it and pop it in a frame for a free printable. 🎃😉

Last but not least

Use the hashtags #littlepumpkinpillowsal #littlepumpkinsal so we can cheer each other on, see each other’s pulls and get new ideas! It's so fun to see the different versions and what everyone pulls together. Have fun gathering and I’ll see you here next week!

♥️ Natalie
